Carol has lived in California all her life and has been interested in art since childhood. She is a retired secondary teacher who taught art for a number of years. She majored in art in high school, but was unable to take many art classes during her college years. Later at UC Berkeley while working on her teaching credential, she took classes in art. Later she pursued art classes at a community college near her home. Linda Kodama, an instructor at Mount San Antonio College, sparked an interest in colored pencil work. She has participated in several colored pencil workshops and is a member of the Colored Pencil Socity of America. Her favorite workshop was with Bet Borgeson, a noted colored pencil artist who has written well known books on the art of colored pencil drawing.

Carol has won awards in several county fairs and has work in personal collections in several states. Her primary interest is in florals, birds, landscapes and other subjects in nature. She has also won awards in photography and enjoys working in pastels, watercolors, and photo tinting as well. She has been a member of the Sierra Artists Gallery since 1998 and enjoys the friendships that she has there.
